1. Dyson AM09 Fan Heater

This model is very different from the others, as it’s the only one that incorporates a heating element right into the design. In other words, you can use it as both a fan and a space heater. One common misconception about this one is that it’s an air conditioner as well, but it’s not. While it will cool off a room better than most standing or desk / table fans, it does not have a cooling element in it.
If you’d like your room to be as cool as possible, the AM09 works great if you place it in front of a window air conditioner or in front of a vent if you have central air. It will blast out and circulate that cold air all over the place, making your air conditioner work much less.
As for the heating element, it certainly rivals any other portable heater on the market today and has a few cool bells and whistles to boot. First, it has something called Jet Focus control, which is a fancy way of saying it’s really powerful. You can choose from two different modes: One projects the air widely around an entire room, and the other offers a focused area of air flow, which is great if you’re sitting still in one place and want to warm up.
Second, you can set the temperature with energy efficiency. You can set the temperature anywhere you want from 30 – 99 degrees and the unit will run until the room temperature is reached, then it will turn itself off until the temperature drops again. This not only saves on energy, but it also will keep your room from getting too hot.
As for the fan mechanism, Dyson uses its patented Air Multiplier technology which creates a high-velocity stream of air. The best thing about the fan is that there are no blades, meaning less noise. Instead of listening to the blades fly around, you only hear the air whooshing through the opening in the unit. Being bladeless also makes it much easier to clean, as all you need to do is wipe off the housing with nothing to take apart or disassemble.
Speaking of quiet, this hot and cool fan heater certainly is that. As stated before, you only hear the air coming through the fan. The motor is very quiet, and there are no blades to make noise. Dyson has done some work on this without a doubt, as the AM09 is 75% quieter than its predecessor, the AM05. It even has accreditation from QuietMark, an organization that rates the noise of household appliances.
As for its other features, it has a sleep timer which works great if you want a little more airflow when you’re dozing off, and it comes with a remote control that you can use for all the operations. The remote even sticks to the fan unit itself via its magnetic surface, so it’s less likely to get lost in the house.
As for movement, it has both an oscillating and a tilt feature, meaning you can tilt it up and down and have it run side to side if you prefer.
As for safety, you won’t have to worry about anything getting caught up in the blades, and it shuts off by itself if it should ever be knocked over.
Overall, while pricey, the Dyson AM09 Fan Heater is a great investment if you want a heating and cooling appliance you can use year round.
2. Dyson AM08 Air Multiplier Pedestal Fan

Unlike the AM09, the AM08 is not a heater, but it does have some of the same handy features. Like many other fans from this reputable company, the AM08 has both oscillating and tilt features, and it comes with a remote control that does everything and sticks to the fan housing since it’s magnetic.
It also has a sleep timer which works great if you’re one of those who has trouble sleeping without a little white noise or if you go to bed hot and wake up chilly. This way, it will shut off whenever you want.
Another innovative feature is its energy efficiency. In fact, it consumes 15% less power than the previous model, the AM03. And is 35% quieter, so it’s great to use in any bedroom – even a baby’s room at night.
Since it is bladeless, it’s also very safe and easy to clean. If you’ve ever had to take apart a fan to get at the blades, and then scrub the dust and grime off them, you’ll really appreciate this feature.
As far as specifications, it’s just over four and a half feet tall and weighs just over eight pounds. It has a nice long cord (over six feet) and has a base plate over ten inches, so it’s very stable when standing on the floor.
3. Dyson AM07 Tower Fan

Much like the models above, the AM07 incorporates Dyson’s strong Air Multiplier technology, which means it’s extremely powerful, and in spite of being bladeless actually moves more air than models from other manufacturers.
The only thing really different about it vs other models is its stature. Instead of being a round air circulator on a stand like the pedestal fan, the tower fan is more streamlined. At just over three feet tall and only about six inches wide, it can easily fit into a corner or any smaller space.
As for things about it that are special: It has an oscillating feature to direct air around a room, or you can concentrate it in one spot. It also is 60% quieter and consumes 10% less power than its predecessor, the AM02. It incorporates a sleep timer if you only want it to run for a little while then automatically shut itself off and it comes with a remote control that is magnetized to the fan housing so you won’t lose it.
Because it’s bladeless, it’s also very easy to clean, safe and quiet.
4. Dyson AM06 Desktop / Tabletop Fan

Much like the models above, this one comes with a magnetized remote control, shuts off if it gets tipped over, oscillates or has a directed airflow, a sleep timer and a tilting feature to get the air to blow right where you want it. It also has ten powerful speeds to choose from.
Additionally, it’s 75% quieter than the Dyson AM01 (last model) and consumes 30% less power, so it will help with your electric bills. Since it’s bladeless, it’s also safer than fans with blades. That also makes it very easy to clean.
